Your privacy matters. This policy explains, in plain English, what information SafeFax ("we", "us") collects when you use safefax.net, why we collect it, how we protect it, and the choices you have.
1. What we collect
We only collect what we need to send and receive faxes on your behalf:
- Account info: your name and email.
- Payment info: billing details, processed by our PCI-DSS compliant payment processor. We never see or store your full card number.
- Fax content: documents you upload to send, faxes delivered to your assigned number, and the destination/origin fax numbers.
- Usage data: basic diagnostic data like browser type, IP address, and timestamps, used to keep the service running and secure.
2. How we use it
- To deliver the faxes you ask us to send.
- To make your received faxes available to you.
- To process payments and prevent fraud.
- To respond to your support requests.
- To send important transactional emails (e.g. delivery confirmations, billing receipts).
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We do not use your fax contents for advertising, analytics, or training any machine-learning model.
3. Who we share it with
We share data only with vetted service providers that help us run the service:
- Telecom carrier (SignalWire): to actually transmit your faxes over the phone network.
- Payment processor (Stripe): to securely accept and renew payments.
- Cloud storage (Supabase): to store your faxes encrypted at rest.
- Email provider: to deliver confirmations and receipts.
We may also disclose information when required by law (e.g. valid subpoena) or to protect the safety or rights of our users.
4. How long we keep it
Fax content is retained for 30 days by default so you can re-download it. After 30 days, fax documents are permanently deleted from our systems. You can delete a fax at any time from your inbox.
Account and billing records are retained for as long as required by law (typically 7 years for tax purposes), then deleted.
5. How we protect it
- All data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.2+.
- All fax content is encrypted at rest using AES-256.
- Access is restricted to a small number of vetted employees.
- We run continuous security monitoring and audit our infrastructure regularly.
6. Your choices
- Access & export: request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Correction: ask us to update inaccurate info.
- Deletion: close your account and have your data deleted (subject to legal retention requirements).
- Marketing emails: unsubscribe at the bottom of any marketing email. Transactional emails (receipts, delivery confirmations) can't be turned off while your account is active.

7. Children
SafeFax is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please email us so we can delete it.
8. Changes to this policy
If we make a material change, we'll notify you by email and update the "Effective" date at the top of this page.
